The season consists of 27 official money events with a total purse of over $60 million since 2020, and the final tournament of the season, which features the top 65 money earners on the season, is the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. Throughout the season, the golfers compete for the Charles Schwab Cup, awarded to the player who has amassed the most points based on their performance in the events.
In addition, the top 36 players in points advance to the Playoffs, culminating in the PGA Tour Champions Tour Championship. The top three finishers in the Tour Championship ultimately get to compete in the Tour Champions Finale at the Wyndham Championship, where the overall winner of the season is crowned. Since its establishment, Tour Champions have witnessed some of the most remarkable performances in golf. For example, Hale Irwin set the most wins in a single season, with 9, while David Frost set the record for the most total career earnings, reaching over $11 million in 2013.
