Usually these conference tournament championships are between top seeds and the point odds are miniscule. Maybe even just coming down to a bucket or two. That's not the case in the AAC Championship. Houston is nearly favored by two touchdowns over Cincinnati. But neither school was the top seed and the Bearcats knocked off the No. 1 Wichita State by a point in the semifinals. So this isn't impossible for the Bearcats.

These two met once this season and odds are the odds makers looked at that game to set the stakes. Less than a month ago the Cougars routed Cincy by 38 points. Houston shot 47 percent compared to 30 for Cincinnati. The Bearcats were 7-8 at that point though and turned it on since then. In their first 10 games of the season before a lengthy postponement stretch of games, the Bearcats were 3-7. Ever since then they're 9-3.

They've learned to adjust and besides they lost to Wichita State earlier in the season. The Bearcats have vast experience in this game as this will be their fourth straight AAC title game. If anyone can pull off another upset it's the Bearcats. Especially when the Bearcats have beat the Cougars in the last two title games.

Houston looks primed to finally flip the script though. They are ranked seventh in the nation. They've only lost three games and are guaranteed a spot in the big tournament later on this month. They beat a tough team in Memphis to get here and Cincinnati might be without their leading scorer Keith Williams who left early during the Wichita State game. It doesn't hurt Houston either that they are ranked second in the country in points allowed with 57.4 ppg. This suffocating defense gives Houston a tremendous opportunity to finally win their first ever AAC championship.
