Morocco will take on the United States in the second game of the group stage in the U-20 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.
The Morocco national team will take on the United States in Group C play of the U-2O FIFA Women’s World Cup on Wednesday. This will be the second game for each of these teams tonight with just one game to go for each as well. The United States took on Spain, another group member, on Sunday and came away losing 1-0. Despite holding possession for 55 percent of the time the United States just wasn’t able to get a shot in the back of the net. The team had four total shots, but it also didn’t record a single shot on goal in that group stage opening game. The United States will head into this second matchup with not only a loss but also a -1 goal differential. It is starting three points behind the two winning teams of the group and a three-goal differential behind the group leader.

Morocco also played on Sunday following Spain and the US. It took on Paraguay, the fourth group member, losing 2-0. Like the United States, Morocco held the majority of the possession percentage. It conceded the two goals, but the team had six more total shots than Paraguay, including five on target and eight off target.
With the -2 goal differential, Morocco heads into this second matchup as the group’s worst team. Each of these teams still have one game to go in group play after this game, as the US will take on Paraguay and Morocco will take on Spain next Sunday, Sept. 7 to decide who will advance to the knockout stages.
