Countless star athletes will be featured in NBC’s primetime coverage this evening, with medals on the line in swimming, diving, and gymnastics. That includes the men’s team final in gymnastics. Frederick Ricahrd, Paul Juda, Brody Malone, Asher Hong and Stephen Nedoroscik are aiming to secure the Americans’ first Olympic medal since 2008, when the U.S. men won bronze.
However, the big events of the night will be in the pool. The women’s 400m individual medley final will take place, along with the men’s 200-meter freestyle final. Emma Weyant and Katie Grimes posted the fastest two times in the semifinals to advance to the evening’s final. Weyant’s time of 4:36.27 was 0.97 faster than Grimes’ 4:37.24.
