Six years after reaching the semifinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, Haiti lines up in a challenging Group D lineup and makes its arrival against Saudi Arabia at Snapdragon Stadium on Sunday. Special invitee Saudi Arabia will be making its first appearance in the Gold Cup this year and faces another instant first on Matchday 1 as it takes on Les Grenadiers in a maiden matchup between these nations. Haiti has won nine of its last 10 games coming into the competition and could be a dark horse to watch out for despite being one of the lower-ranked outfits set to take part.

Both Haiti manager Sebastien Migne and Saudi boss Herve Renard were installed as coaches of their respective teams last year, but can each make a big statement in the States this summer.

The Haitians pack a widespread mix of European-based talent and those playing their trade in North America, including Philadelphia Union midfielder Danley Jean Jacques.

Saudi Arabia missed out on the chance to automatically qualify for next year’s World Cup following a 3-2 defeat at home to Australia mid-week.

The Green Falcons can still book their place in the 2026 showcase but have added to their schedule and now need to compete in an extra round of qualifying if they’re to do so.

For now, though, all eyes will be on the team’s Gold Cup pursuit as they make their debut in this competition, hoping to start on the brightest of notes in California.
