Saint Lucia will take the pitch against Jamaica in Guatemala in the first group-stage match in Group H on Monday.
Jamaica and Saint Lucia will head to Guatemala for the U-17 men’s qualifiers in the CONCACAF. Both of these teams will hail from Group H, which will allow one ticket to be punched to the U-17 World Cup later this year in Qatar. The Jamaica team hasn’t made it past the Round of 16 in the qualifiers since 2013, when it made it to the quarterfinals. Since then, it has either not made it out of the group stage or just barely made it into the knockout stage. In the last U-17 CONCACAF Championship, Jamaica either lost or drew three of the team’s four matches.

Several players that will take the field for Jamaica hail from MLS clubs, including Inter Miami FC’s Joshua Grant and Brandon Bent. FC Dallas will also feature Malachi Molina, as well as Phoenix FA’s Jahmani Bell out there. Toronto FC’s Adrian Mahoney and Atlanta United’s Ashton Gordon also made the final roster. Orlando City will also send Ryan Heron.
For Saint Lucia, making it this far is a huge feat for the team. They haven’t made the group stage in the CONCACAF U-17 since 2015, and that is the only time they have done it since 1988. In all the previous competitions, they either didn’t participate or didn’t qualify. On top of that, they have never qualified for a U-17 World Cup.
This will certainly be a game you do not want to miss as Group H gets started in the CONCACAF U-17 Men’s qualifiers group stage, getting set for the 2025 U-17 World Cup at the end of the year in November in Qatar.
