U-17 Women’s Concacaf Qualifiers kick off on Monday with four groups beginning play.

The 2025 Concacaf qualifiers will begin on Monday as four groups get the ball rolling in four different host countries. Cuba and Guyana will kick things off for Group C on Monday afternoon at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This year’s qualifying rules have changed. The new Concacaf U-17 Women’s Qualifiers will consist of two rounds, with the four highest-ranked participating Concacaf Member Associations receiving a bye to the Final Round. This year, Canada, Haiti, Mexico and the United States are the four nations which have received byes to the Final Round. After round-robin play, the six group winners and the two best second-place finishers will advance to the Final Round, joining the four top-ranked teams.

The Final Round will also be played in a group format, consisting of three groups of four teams each. After round-robin play in the Final Round, the three group winners and the best second-place finisher will qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

In the 2022 Concacaf Championship, Cuba played against Haiti, Guatemala, El Salvador and Jamaica. The squad was only able to pick up a win against Guatemala with a 2-0 win, but fell 2-0 to Haiti, 3-0 to El Salvador and 4-0 to Jamaica.

Joining Cuba and Guyana in Group C are Panama and Turks and Caicos. Panama’s last appearance took place in 2023, but in a group containing the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, the team did not make it out of group play.
