AI at Fubo News

TechTarget.com defines AI (Artificial Intelligence) as “Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. Specific applications of AI include expert systems, natural language processing, speech recognition and machine vision.”

Different forms of artificial intelligence are popping up all over the world, so much so that the U.S. Government has recently developed a pilot program to “create a national resource for researchers and educators to access high-powered AI technologies with the goal of ensuring the US continues to lead in AI research and innovation.”

How/Why does Fubo use AI?

We see AI as a valuable complement to our human-run processes, as using it makes us more efficient. Previously mundane tasks can be completed quickly and correctly, leaving us more time to focus on innovation. Other more involved tasks can be optimized by AI, improving the quality of our product.

What is the Fubo News Roundup?

We use AI to provide a service called the “Fubo News Roundup.” This is an aggregation service, where we record live airings from various news channels to produce a text roundup of noteworthy topics reported on by each news source. We don’t editorialize our coverage of what’s reported on air and we don’t maintain a political slant. We aim to include news channels across a variety of voices to provide roundups from all available angles.
