The No. 23 Alabama Crimson Tide will welcome the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles to Rhodes Stadium on Wednesday for a non-conference college softball contest. The Crimson Tide come into the mid-week matchup with an overall record of 21-9 and an SEC record of 1-2 for a spot in 12th place in the conference standings. Over the weekend, the team hosted No. 19 Mississippi State and walked away with a 1-2 record against the Bulldogs. The first game resulted in a 9-1, six-inning loss before the Crimson Tide took the second game in a 7-4 victory. The rubber match was tightly contested, but the Bulldogs ended up earning a 4-3 victory. Brooke Ellestad led the Alabama offense at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBIs on a double to right center. Jocelyn Briski earned the loss on the mound after pitching 3.1 innings and giving up one earned run while striking out one batter.

The Seminoles bring a five-game win streak into Wednesday’s non-conference game and are currently 25-5 on the season and 3-0 in ACC play. The team’s most recent games were played against Pitt in Tallahassee over the weekend. The Seminoles were able to get out their brooms and complete the sweep to open conference play. The team outscored the Panthers 24-4 with Game 2 being a massive 13-0 shutout in five innings. Jaysoni Beachum led her team in that win with a 2-for-3 outing with three RBIs. Beachum has an impressive batting average of .402 this season, but it’s Kennedy Harp who leads with a .489 batting average and 40 RBIs so far.

Florida State and Alabama have met 15 times in their history and the Seminoles currently hold a narrow 8-7 lead in the all-time-series. The teams met once last year and the Crimson Tide earned the win on the road in a 4-1 victory.
