Will Richard and No. 6 Florida will take the court against Johni Broome and No. 1 Auburn in a huge SEC clash on Saturday.

In the matchup of the week, Florida, the No. 6-ranked men’s college basketball team in the country, will travel to Auburn, Alabama, to face off with the No. 1-ranked Auburn in a battle of two of the top Southeastern Conference teams in the country at Neville Arena on Saturday afternoon. The top-ranked Auburn Tigers are 21-1 overall this season and have proven to be hard to beat. They are a perfect 9-0 against teams in the SEC, and their only loss this season came against the No. 2-ranked Duke in a non-conference contest.

Last weekend, they opened up the month against No. 23 Ole Miss on the road and beat them by 10 points in Oxford. Player of the Year candidate Johni Broom led the team with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Dylan Cardwell also had 10 points and 13 rebounds. Earlier this week, they took down Oklahoma at home by 28 points. Broome finished with 15 points, five rebounds, and six assists in 26 minutes.

The Florida Gators will try to do something no other team in the SEC has done yet: beat Auburn. They are 19-3 overall this season. After finishing undefeated in their non-conference schedule, which included big wins, they have since lost three games against SEC teams sitting at 6-3. They are tied with No. 15 Missouri and No. 10 Texas A&M while sitting three games behind their opponent.

They suffered a crushing defeat last weekend against their rival No. 4 Tennessee by 20 points. Their leading scorer, Walter Clayton Jr, only had 10 points in the loss to lead the team. They picked up another win earlier this week, beating Vanderbilt by 11 points at home in Gainesville. Will Richard led the team and the game in that win with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
