The Islanders have to feel like they let a win slip away in the first game, but they can steal home-ice advantage away with a win on Monday night.
Kyle MacLean scored the lone goal for the Islanders in the first game and that came at 8:20 of the first period.
The Islanders weren’t able to hit the back of the net the rest of the game as they went the last 52 minutes without scoring.
Semyon Varlamov looked good in net as he had 23 saves, but it just wasn’t enough for the Islanders to win. They will have to give him more goal support on Monday night to even the series.
