Thunder Valley Nationals will try to get underway despite storms rolling in today.
In the event that will light up Bristol Dragway, the Thunder Valley Nationals on its own has already moved its race schedule ahead to avoid incoming storms. Brittany Force looks to repeat her 2017 season, where she was the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Champion.

The top fuel dragster division will have 16 competitors. The top fuel records for Thunder Valley were set in October 2021. The top speed of 334.48 MPH was set by Justin Ashley and the best elapsed time of 3.667 seconds was set by Steve Torrence. Both of these competitors will attend and look to improve their marks from nine months ago.
The Fuel Funny Car division will also have track record holders in attendance with Ron Capps, who set the elapsed time record in 2016 and Matt Hagan who set the top speed record of 330.31 MPH back in October 2021.
Bo Butner is a contender in the Pro Stock category after winning the Pro Stock Championship in 2017. Butner won again in 2018 in Pomona and was the Runner-up last season here at Bristol. Butner is looking to move up from his finish last year at Bristol.
