Keith Richardson and Bekhzod Usmonov will wrap up Friday’s card at BKFC Fight Night: Albuquerque with a bantamweight bout that could land the former another shot at the 135lb title. Richardson previously beat Reginald Barnett Jr to clinch the bantamweight belt in October 2023 but lost the strap to Alberto Blas in his very first defense of the title 10 months later. Meanwhile, Usmonov returns to BKFC more than a year after his third-round knockout win over Trevor Loken and will headline in his first main event with the promotion, hoping to improve on a record that has seen him win just one of his last six bouts.

BKFC fans will look forward to the return of ‘Rockstar’ Richardson just a couple of months after he finished Michael Larrimore in devastating fashion at BKFC 69.

It took the 41-year-old just 21 seconds to finish Larrimore, making a serious statement of intent in his first fight since losing the bantamweight crown to Blas six months prior.

Richardson has proved himself to be a natural in BKFC and boasts a 5-1 record in the promotion, while Usmonov has only won one of his two bouts under its banner:

‘Lion’ is due to return to bare knuckle after 18 months away, failing to advance in The Ultimate Fighter before suffering a unanimous-decision defeat to Justin Wetzell at LFA 195 in October.

Earlier in the night, Eric Dodson – brother of former UFC star and current BKFC flyweight champion John – will face Van Vo in a featherweight duel, looking to improve his 3-2 record with the promotion.

Elsewhere, fireworks look guaranteed when Kyle ‘The Irishman’ McElroy goes up against fellow middleweight Jay Jackson, who has notched each of his last two wins by doctor’s stoppage and hasn’t been to a decision since 2021.
