Three-time world title challenger Joet Gonzalez will return against Arnold Khegai on Saturday following a lengthy hiatus. Watch the fight live free on Fubo.

After a long time out of action, Joet Gonzalez will make a highly anticipated return to boxing on Saturday when he faces off against Arnold Khegai in a featherweight showdown in Long Beach. ‘Arni’ has won his last six fights and is currently sat second in the WBO featherweight rankings as he looks to launch his shot at the title, a feeling 26-4 Gonzalez knows all too well from earlier in his career. The California native twice fought for the WBO belt but lost on both occasions to elite opposition, but the 31-year-old is hoping to restore his reputation and make a run of his own, starting with this ProBox headliner.

It was almost six years ago that Gonzalez lost to Shakur Stevenson in his first attempt at WBO gold, and he suffered another unanimous-decision defeat when he faced Emanuel Navarrete for the same prize in 2021.

He later competed against Luis Alberto Lopez for the IBF featherweight title in September 2023, but yet another unanimous-decision loss kept him from getting his hands on the gold.

Eighteen months have passed since Gonzalez was last in the ring against Lopez, where he gave a fine account of his abilities despite slipping to his fourth decision defeat in just seven fights:

He hasn’t competed again since then, while 22-1-1 Khegai was active throughout 2024 and won both his bouts last year, most notably forcing Belmar Preciado’s corner to stop his last bout after eight rounds.

In fact, the Ukrainian has finished each of his last three fights and has stopped three of his last five bouts in the fourth round or earlier.
