Wednesday’s ProBox TV card concludes with a lightweight bout between Gabriel Flores Jr. and Jose Arellano.

Gabriel Flores Jr is chasing a fifth consecutive win when he stares down Jose Arellano as the main event in Wednesday’s ProBox TV schedule in Jamestown, California. Flores (25-2), 24, promises to have the home advantage on the west coast considering he was born and raised in nearby Stockton and claimed victory in each of his last four bouts fighting in front of a hometown crowd. Arellano (11-2), meanwhile, is aiming to bounce back, having suffered defeat to Jaycob Gomez in his last bout almost one year ago, but faces a major test as he moves up to lightweight for this fixture.

The midweek card at Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Jamestown won’t be Arellano’s first experience fighting on a ProBox card, having become something of a veteran for the promotion.

The Mexican contender has lost two of his last three fights – all of which took place in Plant City – and will hope a change of scenery may lead to an uptick in results.

It’s been almost three years since Flores Jr. suffered the most recent of his two career defeats on the other hand.

Flores was dropped three times by Giovanni Cabrera – including two in the first round – but still managed to make the final bell in a decision defeat back in July 2022.

The American has been on a tear since then and put together a run of four straight wins, including three victories last year alone.

The up-and-coming talent has restored much of the momentum lost prior to his losses against Cabrera and Luis Alberto Lopez and is once again making waves at lightweight.

Flores Jr. will be the favorite to come out on top in California, though Arellano’s superior knockout percentage of 55 percent – compared to Flores Jr’s 32 percent – should put the frontrunner on high alert.

Regional restrictions may apply.
