It goes without saying that Lamar Jackson is by far and away the best quarterback out of the deep QB class of the 2018 draft. After Jackson though, a strong argument could be made for Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills as the second best out of that draft. Baker Mayfield doesn't seem to have reached his full potential even with a plethora of weapons in Cleveland.
Sam Darnold is on the worst team in football and is injured again making way for the Joe Flacco era in New York. Head Coach Adam Gase has not been able to develop Darnold as expected. Fair or not their are already chants to tank for Trevor Lawerence. Josh Rosen is on the Tampa practice squad, his third team in as many seasons and is on the brink of being out of football altogether.
Then their is Allen. After a learning curve in his rookie year, he led the Bills to the playoffs and if it weren't for Deshaun Watson's late heroics, they would have went even further than the Wild Card last year. This year the Bills are off to an impressive 3-0 start. Sure they played the Jets and Dolphins the first two weeks but they were able to avert a comeback from a resurgent LA Rams team. Allen is second in passing yards and pass TDs in the league. He has added more to his arsenal previously relying heavily on his legs. The Bills are leading the AFC East and still have a great shot to finally win the division since 1995.

As for the Raiders, they lost pretty badly in New England thanks to a resurgent Cam Newton. Also, their first loss would have been a lot more competitive if they didn't fumble the ball three times. Derek Carr has played well so far this season, certainly compared to last year. He led a commanding victory in the first ever NFL game in Las Vegas against the New Orleans Saints. But that's not what's going to rule the day if the Raiders are to pull out a victory at home.
This Bills defense looked more porous than a sponge when it came to defending the run against the Rams. They gave up more than 100 yards to Darrell Henderson almost matching his 2019 rookie season rushing total of 147 yards. The Raiders will feature a much bigger threat in Josh Jacobs who can run all over you and catch the ball as well as any back in the league. He played decent against the Patriots with 77 yards and three receptions but he fumbled the ball for a turnover. Again, if the Raiders can hold onto the ball better, their Las Vegas home will become somewhat of a good luck charm. Both of these teams are better than they were last year and we should have a great battle in the desert.
