The defending National Champions hit the field on Saturday afternoon when Michigan plays its annual Spring Game.
Michigan is back on the field for the first time since they beat Washington in the CFP Title game. The Wolverines won the Big Ten for the third straight year and finally broke through in the playoffs when they beat Alabama in the semifinals in overtime and then whipped the Huskies to win their first national championship since 1997. The Wolverines are going to look different as Jim Harbaugh left to coach the Los Angeles Chargers and offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore is now in charge. They also will have a new quarterback as JJ McCarthy is off to the NFL draft.

The Wolverines have a group of quarterbacks all competing for the job, but they will have a great player next to them as running back Donovan Edwards is back. Edwards had a down year in 2023, but he exploded for two long touchdown runs in the championship game.
The Wolverines’ schedule is going to be one of the toughest in the country this year as they host Texas in a non-conference game in week two before a brutal Big Ten slate.
They will host USC, Michigan State and Oregon this season and also head to Washington, Illinois and Ohio State.
It isn’t going to be easy for the Wolverines to repeat, but with the expanded playoffs they have a better shot to make it back.
