Neymar is in line to return from injury in the Champions League last-16 clash at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday after he was included in Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for the fixture.
The Brazil star was one of 21 players named in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the midweek trip to the Westfalenstadion, where PSG will hope to gain the upper hand in what could be a make-or-break clash.
The Ligue 1 leaders have been without Neymar for their past four fixtures (three wins, one draw) but will be glad to welcome him back as they look to advance past the Champions League round of 16 for the first time since 2016.
The 28-year-old last featured for the capital powerhouse in a 5-0 mauling of Montpellier on February 1 when he suffered a rib injury. He went on to celebrate his birthday in style one day later at Parisian nightclub Yoyo.
PSG came back from three goals down to draw 4-4 away to Amiens on Saturday when Kylian Mbappe was also rested. Midfielder Leandro Paredes, defender Abdou Diallo and 17-year-old prodigy Adil Aouchiche have each been ruled out of the trip to Dortmund.
The Black and Yellows have won once in their last three outings but pose a threat on PSG’s hopes of qualification, particularly after January signing Erling Haaland has scored nine goals in his first six appearances for the German juggernaut.
Neymar has scored 15 goals and recorded 10 assists in only 18 appearances for Tuchel this season. He bagged one goal and two assists against Galatasaray in his only 90-minute group-stage outing, hoping to carry through that European momentum on Tuesday.
