The Champions League Round of 16 matchup with a big chance of a big upset takes place Wednesday at Anfield, with defending champions Liverpool welcoming Atlético Madrid as the English side try to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.
Liverpool have looked absolutely unstoppable all season, but lost three of their last five in all competitions since February. The Reds did not exactly set the world on fire against Bournemouth at the weekend, and one could call into question their form coming into such a big European challenge.
Jürgen Klopp will be without injured goalkeeper Alisson for this match, dealing a major blow to his side's title defense. Fortunately, captain Jordan Henderson is expected to return from an injury suffered in the first leg in Madrid, and is likely to play from the start. The hopes will once again fall on the shoulders of the front three, with Roberto Firmino especially motivated for this one: the Brazilian still hasn't scored at Anfield this season, and the team is simply not the same when he has an off-night–as we saw in the first leg.
Atlético are known for their defensive prowess and Diego Simeone will be hungry to beat the best team in the world. His team's tactical discipline in the first leg has set them up to pull the biggest upset of the season so far. This leg, they'll have to face more than the 11 men on the field, as the Kop will undoubtedly be rocking with support for the Reds.
