Cam Cannarella and Clemson will take on Armani Guzman and West Virginia on Saturday in the Clemson Regional for a championship berth.

No. 2 seed West Virginia will battle the regional’s host and No. 1 seed in Clemson in Game 4 of the Clemson Regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on the campus of the University of Clemson. The Tigers finished their season with a 45-16 overall record and an 18-12 record against teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference. They opened up the regional yesterday with a game against the regional’s No. 4 seed, USC Upstate, and won 7-3. The game was slow to get started, but when the runs came, they piled on for Clemson, getting three in the fifth inning and four in the eighth inning.

Drew Titsworth started the game and threw 4.0 innings, giving up two earned runs with two strikeouts. Jacob McGovern and Lucas Mahlstedt finished the game with the latter picking up the win. Cam Cannarella provided much of the offense for Clemson in the win. He went 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs, a home run, and four RBIs.

The Mountaineers closed out their regular season with a 42-14 record overall and a 19-9 record against teams in the Big 12 Conference. They took on the regional’s No. 3 seed, Kentucky, in the first game on Friday night. They squeaked by the win, 4-3, advancing in the winners’ bracket. The loser of this game will head to the losers’ bracket while the winner will advance to the championship.

Griffin Kirn threw 7.1 innings after starting for West Virginia. He gave up one earned run on five hits with seven strikeouts in a dominant performance. Only two of the four runs for WVU were earned as Brodie Kresser and Armani Guzman picked up the RBIs. Jace Rinehart reached on a throwing error that ended up scoring West Virginia’s first two runs of the game.
