The No. 12 ranked team in the nation, Arizona, will stay on the road for the third and final game of this three-game weekend series against Pac-12 rival Utah at Smith’s Ballpark in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Sunday night. The Wildcats came into this series with a 30-17 record overall and an 18-7 record against conference teams in the Pac-12 heading into this weekend. They brought a four-game win streak into this weekend after dominating Stanford last weekend in a sweep with a total run differential of 24-10. They turned around and beat Arizona State on the road earlier this week 5-3. Mason White and Brendan Summerhill have been the best batters on the team this season. White, the team’s shortstop, is batting .314 with a .410 on-base percentage. He has 15 home runs and 56 RBIs which are both team highs as well. Summerhill is averaging a .326 at the plate with a .402 on-base percentage. He has six home runs and 47 RBIs with 45 runs on 62 hits in 190 total at-bats.

The Utes are 30-16 overall and will be no easy series. Heading into the weekend they are 15-9 against teams in the Pac-12 as well. Last weekend, they lost two of three games against Oregon on the road losing the first two games 7-5 and 5-1 and winning the last 9-7. They also lost earlier this week against Utah Tech on the road 11-8 before this series.
TJ Clarkson, Utah’s right fielder, and Kai Roberts, Utah’s center fielder, have been the best at the plate this season. Clarkson is batting .278 while Roberts is at .358. Clarkson has 10 home runs and 46 RBIs while Roberts has six home runs and a team-high 52 RBIs. Combined they have 83 runs on 119 hits.
