Chase Fralick led off the top of the ninth with a tie-breaking home run to lift the Tigers to a 5-4 victory on Friday night. Auburn took an early 4-0 lead, scoring twice in the third and adding two more in the fifth before Mississippi State tied the game in the eighth. Chris Rembert had a pair of RBI singles and Jackson Sanders got the win, allowing two runs in 4.1 innings of relief.

Ace Reese tied the game with a single in the eighth inning for the Bulldogs, getting caught in a rundown between first and second that helped allow the run to score. Reed Stallman got Mississippi State on the board with a two-run homer in the fifth and Reese ended the night 4-for-5.

Mississippi State won the opener on Thursday night 10-3 and enters play on Saturday with Reese leading the club with 17 home runs and 61 RBI. Fralick leads Auburn with 13 homers while Eric Guevara has a team-high 42 RBI and Bristol Carter enters the game with 27 steals in 28 attempts.

The Bulldogs had not named a starter for Saturday while Auburn gives the ball to right-hander Alex Petrovic (7-2), who comes in with a 3.14 ERA and 0.92 WHIP to go with 67 strikeouts in 66 innings.
