The Hokies finished conference play just ahead of Stanford with an ACC record of 12-18 and the team brings an overall record of 30-24 into postseason play. Last weekend, Virginia Tech closed out ACC play with a series against in-state rival Virginia, losing in the opener 12-2 and the rubber match 3-1 to drop the series. The team has not had the strongest performances at the plate this season and will look to improve upon that in the ACC tournament. Ryan Kirtley has the highest batting average on the team at .500, however, he has only appeared in seven games. As far as consistent players go, Sam Tackett leads with a .314 batting average and holds a .429 slugging percentage. As a team, the Hokies only averaged .270 at the plate. On the mound, Josh Berzonski leads with an ERA of .338 while Brett Renfrow is right behind with a 3.41 ERA.

Stanford and Virginia Tech did not meet in regular-season play this year and will meet for the first time since the Cardinal joined the ACC. Tune in Tuesday afternoon to see which of these teams can stay alive with a win in Durham.
