SEC play continues on Saturday night for Alabama and Auburn with the final game of their series and second of Saturday’s double header.

A top 20 matchup will see the No. 16 Auburn Tigers host the No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday in the second game of a double header to close out their SEC series at Plainsman Park. Coming into Saturday’s games, the Tigers were 21-9 overall with an SEC record of 5-5, putting them in eighth place in the conference standings. Game one on Friday night saw the Tigers pull off a big 10-0 win in seven innings to jump out to a lead in the series. Chris Rembert led the offense for Auburn, going 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBI collected from an RBI double in the second and a two-run single in the fifth. Samuel Dutton pitched a complete game for the Tigers, earning the win with six strikeouts and only giving up two hits.

With Friday night’s loss, the Crimson Tide dropped to 26-5 overall and 6-4 in conference play which now has the team in sixth place in the SEC standings. The loss, which went to Zane Adams on the mound, broke a two-game win streak for Alabama. Adams got the start, but gave up six earned runs in just one inning to give him his first loss of the season. Auburn held Alabama to just two hits on the night which came from the bats of Jason Torres and Bryce Fowler. The team will look to bounce back and will rely on Kade Snell to get his bat moving on Saturday as he leads the team offensively with a .409 batting average.
