UNLV will host Arizona State on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup at Las Vegas Ballpark.

A mid-week, non-conference matchup has the Arizona State Sun Devils traveling to take on the UNLV Rebels at Las Vegas Ballpark for their second and final planned meeting this season. The Sun Devils come into the game with an overall record of 16-8 and a conference record of 4-2 after winning the series against No. 22 Kansas 2-1 over the weekend. The series finale was a 7-6 walk-off win after Nu’u Contrades homered to right center, scoring Landon Hairston, as well. Jacob Tobias and Isaiah Jackson also had two RBI in the game while Hairston had two runs and two hits in five at-bats. Lucas Kelly earned the win despite allowing three hits and two earned runs in the top of the ninth inning.

The Rebels come into the game winning the series against Fresno State 2-1 to improve to 13-10 overall and 2-4 in Mountain West play. The latest game in the series resulted in an 8-7 loss. Earning the loss for UNLV was Reese Lueck, dropping his record to 1-1 on the season. Lueck stepped on the mound in the fourth inning to replace the starter Sam Simon and both pitchers allowed four runs. Simon gave up one earned run, three walks and threw two strikeouts while Lueck gave up one earned run and threw three strikeouts. Leading the offense was leadoff hitter, JP Hefft with two runs, four hits and three RBI. Right fielder Cole Koniarsky had three hits and three RBIs. Catcher Chase Gallegos finished the game with two runs, two walks with two at bats. 

Since 2002, Arizona State leads the all-time series 15-10 with the latest game being a 7-0 win for the Sun Devils earlier this month. Jonah Giblin earned the win and Kien Vu led the offense with a double and home run, earning a total of three hits and three RBIs.
