Texas A&M and Arkansas will meet for the second time in as many days on Friday night for game two of their SEC series.
On Friday night, No. 5 Texas A&M will host No. 3 Arkansas at Blue Bell Park for the second game of their final SEC series of the season ahead of the SEC tournament this upcoming week. The Razorbacks are currently leading the SEC West standings with an overall record of 42-11 and a conference record of 19-9, but the Aggies are right on their tail in second place. Last night, the matchup between the two teams spanned 11 innings and the game finally ended by a narrow margin with a 1-0 victory for Texas A&M. Jake Faherty took the loss on the mound after pitching 0.1 innings of work in which he gave up the winning run. Arkansas finished the game with nine hits but was unable to plate any of the runners with the strong defense the Aggies brought to the game.

With yesterday’s win, the Aggies improved to 18-10 in conference play and 43-10 overall while extending their win streak to two games. Evan Aschenbeck played the final four innings of the game and earned the win with four strikeouts against the 17 batters he faced. The Aggies came through defensively to make sure no runners made it home in the game. The Razorbacks held the Aggies to just five hits in the win and the only run to come home was due to a walk in the 11th that brought home Gavin Grahovac.
