Charleston Southern has won its last two games to grab the third seed at the Big South Baseball Tournament and now takes on Presbyterian on Wednesday.

Charleston Southern (28-20) won its final two games of the regular season to leap past Radford for the No. 3 seed at the Big South Baseball Tournament, which opens Wednesday at Truist Point in High Point, North Carolina. The Buccaneers take on sixth-seed Presbyterian (17-33), who grabbed the last spot in the bracket despite losing its final 11 games of the regular season. The winner of this game advances to face No. 2 seed High Point on Thursday, while the loser takes on either No. 5 Winthrop or No. 4 Radford in an elimination game on Wednesday night.

Charleston Southern scored 33 runs to claim the final two games of its series at Gardner-Webb last weekend. Kaden Smith enters the tournament with a .345/.453/.661 slash line, leading the club with 13 home runs and 72 RBIs. Kain Collins is hitting .345 and has 17 stolen bases. The Buccaneers made their lone NCAA tournament appearance in 1996.

The Blue Hose haven’t played since a 22-5 loss at UCF on May 13. Trey Fenderson is slashing .376/.473/.529 with two home runs, 23 RBIs and 14 stolen bases. Ryan Ouzts leads the team with nine home runs and Amman Dewberry tops the squad with 41 RBIs. Presbyterian’s only NCAA tournament bid since moving up to Division I came in 2021.

Ryan Cole (1-2) is the likely starter for Charleston Southern. He has a 6.33 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 13 appearances and 10 starts over 58.1 innings. The Blue Hose have Tyrell Williams (3-2) lined up. Williams comes in with a 4.53 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 15 appearances, seven of them starts over 51.2 innings.
