Oklahoma State takes on Binghamton in an elimination game of the Athens Regional on Saturday

The Oklahoma State Cowboys look to stay alive in the Athens Regional when they take on the Binghamton Bearcats. The loser of the game will go home, while the winner will play the loser of the Georgia Bulldogs and Duke Blue Devils on Sunday afternoon. Both the Cowboys and Bearcats are going to have to get better pitching as they gave up a combined 32 runs in their first games of the regional. The Cowboys fell to the Blue Devils 12-5 in their game to fall to the consolation bracket. They got behind early as they gave up three runs in the second inning and six more in the bottom of the third. The Cowboys finally got on the board in the top of the fifth with a run, but they gave up three more in the bottom of the inning and never had a chance. The loss dropped the Cowboys to 28-23 on the season. Saturday, they will look to be better and live to see another day.

The Bearcats, though, are looking to deal the Cowboys another loss and send them home for the season.

The Bearcats looked overmatched in their first game as they lost 20-4 to Georgia in the first game of the regional.

They gave up at least one run in six of the eight innings that the Bulldogs batted in and it started early as they gave up five runs in the bottom of the first.

They did score two in the top of the third to cut the lead to three, but the Bulldogs answered with three more in the bottom of the inning. It was not a good game for the Bearcats and they will need to be much better on Saturday to upset the Cowboys.
