No. 3 seed Kentucky will battle the regional’s No. 1 seed in Clemson, in an elimination game of the Clemson Regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on the campus of the University of Clemson. The Wildcats finished their season with a 29-25 overall record and a 13-17 record against teams in the Southeastern Conference. They opened up the regional on Friday with a game against the regional’s No. 2 seed, West Virginia, and barely lost 4-3 to send them to this elimination game. Ben Cleaver started the game and gave up one earned run over 6.0 innings. Dimon Gregersen threw 2.0 innings and was credited with the loss. Jackson Nove completed the final third of the ninth.

The team bounced back on Saturday in an elimination game, beating the No. 4 seed USC Upstate 7-3 to advance to this game. Ethan Walker picked up his second win of the season as Kentucky got the runs started early with three in the first inning. Walker threw the final 5.0 innings scoreless, with seven strikeouts, allowing only one hit.

The Tigers closed out their regular season with a 45-17 record overall and an 18-12 record against teams in the ACC. They took down USC Upstate in the first game of this region on Friday night, winning 7-3 on the back of a dominant performance from Jacob McGovern. He wasn’t credited with the win, but he did go 3.1 scoreless innings with six strikeouts.

On Saturday, the host team in this regional lost to the No. 2 seed, West Virginia, 9-6. Aidan Knaak started the game, but Lucas Mahlstedt was credited with the loss after giving up four earned runs on five hits in one inning. Despite the loss, Cam Cannarella had three RBIs to lead the team for the second-straight game.
