No. 5 Clemson will take on the No. 4-seeded NC State in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament on Thursday evening at Truist Field in Charlotte, North Carolina. The No. 5-seeded Tigers finished their season with an 18-12 record against ACC teams and a 42-15 record overall. They opened up the ACC baseball championship in the second round on Wednesday afternoon against the No. 12-seeded Virginia Tech and came away with a 6-1 win. Aidan Knaak picked up his ninth win of the season, dicing up the Hokies.

Knaak gave up Virginia Tech’s only run on four hits with six strikeouts through six innings. The offense for Clemson came at the hands of Dominic Listi. The left fielder went 2-for-3 on the night with a home run and four RBIs, accounting for 80% of the team’s runs. Cam Cannarella had the other RBI for Clemson that accounted for the fifth run.

The No. 4-seeded Wolf Pack will enter the tournament in the quarterfinals after earning a top-four seed. However, they finished their season with a 17-11 record against teams in the conference and a 33-18 record overall. They finished off their regular season losing two of three games against Stanford, the conference’s fourth-worst team.

Ryan Marohn has been the best player on the mound for the team this season. He was 7-3 over the regular season with a 3.72 ERA. In 13 starts, he threw 81 strikeouts in 77.1 innings, giving up 32 earned runs. At the plate, Brayden Fraasman had the best regular season. He finished with a team-high 10 home runs and 44 RBIs, while batting .278.
