The Miami Hurricanes take on the Columbia Lions on Saturday evening in the winner’s bracket of the Hattiesburg Regional. The Hurricanes slipped by the Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday in their first game of the regional to stay in the winner’s bracket. The Hurricanes jumped on the Crimson Tide early with three runs in the top of the first and never trailed. They scored a single run in the third and despite giving up three runs in the bottom of the fourth they held off the rally and got the win. Max Galvin and Daniel Cuvet led the way with two hits each. Both Galvin and Cuvet hit a home run to help lead the Hurricanes to the win. Cuvet finished the game with three RBI. AJ Ciscar was great on the mound as he went seven innings of three-run ball to get the win.

The Lions shocked the regional with an 11-4 win over the host Southern Miss in their first game on Friday.

The Lions got on the board in the top of the first and never trailed in the game. They added a run in the third and four more in the fourth to take control.

They put the finishing touches on the Golden Eagles with two runs in the eight and three runs in the ninth.

Hunter Snyder led the way with four hits for the Lions, while Owen Estabrook had three hits and home run in the upset victory.
