On Tuesday night, a mid-week, non-conference college baseball matchup has the East Carolina University Pirates traveling to take on the Duke Blue Devils at Jack Coombs Field. ECU enters the game after sweeping Memphis in a three-game series over the weekend, improving to 15-9 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The latest game was an 11-1 victory in just seven innings. In the game, Sean Jenkins earned the win, going six innings and allowing two hits, giving up one earned run and striking out four. Leading the offense were Braxton Tramel and Austin Irby, who each earned three RBIs. Tramel went 2-for-4, while Irby went 1-for-3. Colby Wallace scored three runs with two RBIs.

The Blue Devils are 16-9 on the season with a 5-3 ACC record, putting them in seventh place in the conference standings. Duke is currently on a four-game win streak, which includes a three-game sweep over the University of Virginia this past weekend. The latest game resulted in a 13-6 win where Rein Easterly earned the victory on the mound, his third of the season. Easterly pitched 2.1 innings, allowing three hits and striking out two while facing 11 batters. Leading the offense was Ben Miller who went 3-for-6 with four RBIs. Wallace Clark, Tyler Albright and Macon Winslow each finished the game with three RBIs to support offensive play.
Duke has won the last two games, with the latest being a 5-2 win for the Blue Devils in May 2024 when both teams were ranked in the Top 10.
