Florida State’s Alex Lodise had a great game and finished with five RBIs with four hits in five at-bats. Max Williams had three RBIs while Hunter Carns had two. For Miami, Fabio Peralta was the only player to bat in a run, going 1-for-2 on the day. Daniel Cuvet and Tanner Smith both struck out twice.

Before this series, Florida State came in with an 18-2 record overall and a perfect 3-0 record against teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference. It had previously swept Boston College in three-straight games, 8-2, 14-0, and 6-2, bookended by single losses to Florida at home 7-2 before the series and Mercer at home 9-3 after the series.

Before the series started, Miami came to Gainesville with a 13-9 overall record and a 0-3 record against conference teams in the ACC. It ended a three-game series with a win against UConn before losing on the road to UCF in a single game and getting swept in its first ACC action against Wake Forest. The team lost earlier this week as well against Florida Atlantic.
