Florida and East Carolina hit the field on Sunday afternoon in an elimination game of the Conway Regional

The Florida Gators take on the East Carolina Pirates on Sunday afternoon in a win-or-go-home game. It will be the second time the two teams play, as they met in the first round on Friday. The Pirates got the best of the Gators in an 11-5 win, but they turned around and lost to Coastal Carolina on Saturday to drop to the consolation bracket. The Pirates jumped all over the Gators in the first meeting as they scored in each of the first four innings. They led 9-0 before the Gators could manage two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Pirates would add a run in the sixth and seventh and despite giving up four runs in the last two innings, they were never really threatened. Their second game didn’t go nearly as well, though, as they lost to the Chanticleers 18-7. They did lead the Chanticleers 5-4 heading into the seventh inning, but they gave up six runs in the seventh and five more in the eighth to lose control of the game. Sunday, they will look to earn another shot at the Chanticleers by beating Florida.

The Gators, though, are trying to get some revenge for the loss on Friday and make it to the regional finals.

The Gators bounced back from the loss on Friday to blow out Fairfield 17-2 on Saturday in an elimination game.

It was a slow start in the game, though, as it was just 1-1 heading into the fifth. The Gators finally got their bats going as they scored four in the fifth and two in the sixth.

They really broke the game open in the eighth when they scored eight runs. They had 16 hits in the game and Bobby Boser, Brody Donay and Blake Cyr all hit home runs in the win.
