Kansas State and Virginia meet on Saturday in the Charlottesville Super Regional for the second of three possible meetings this weekend between the two schools. On Friday, Virginia defeated the Wildcats 7-4 to take the lead in the series, putting the Cavaliers one win away from advancing. Kansas State led 3-0 heading into the fifth inning, but UVA turned on the jets from there. Henry Godbout led the team with three RBIs while Griff O’Ferrall added two. On the K-State side, Kaelen Culpepper drove in two.

Kansas State swept the Fayetteville Regional last weekend, defeating Louisiana Tech 19-4 in the opener before upsetting No. 5 ranked Arkansas 7-6 on Saturday. On Sunday, the team defeated SEMO 7-2 to advance to the Super Regional.
Virginia also swept its way through the regional round. The Cavaliers defeated Penn 4-2 on Friday, then took down Mississippi State 5-4 on Saturday and 9-2 on Sunday to claim the regional title and advance to this Super Regional round, the second weekend in a row that UVA has hosted in the playoffs.
