Indiana will host a ranked opponent on Tuesday in a mid-week matchup in Bloomington against Louisville.

The Indiana Hoosiers will welcome the No. 18 Louisville Cardinals to Bloomington on Tuesday for a non-conference game at Bart Kaufman Field. The Hoosiers come into Tuesday’s home game with an overall record of 15-13 and a conference record of 6-6 which puts them in seventh place in the Big Ten standings. Over the weekend, the team hosted Big Ten newcomer USC, losing the series 2-1 after dropping the rubber match in a narrow 13-12 loss on Saturday. Korbyn Dickerson led the Hoosiers offensively, going 3-for-5 at the plate with five RBI on the day. Dickerson homered twice to bring those runs home, but the team still came up short against the Trojans. Trey Telfer earned his first loss of the season on the mound after giving up three earned runs in 1.1 innings of work.

The Cardinals are currently in seventh place in the ACC standings with a conference record of 5-4 and an overall record of 20-7. The team picked up a series win against Cal over the weekend, winning the first game 11-10 and the rubber match 13-6 on Sunday. Tagger Tyson brought home four runs with his three hits, hitting a three-run homer in the fourth and an RBI single in the seventh. Garrett Pike added three runs to the scoreboard while Eddie King Jr. tacked on two more. TY Starke picked up his first win of the season, going 1.1 innings and only giving up two hits while striking out two batters.

Indiana and Louisville have met a total of 28 times in their history and the Cardinals hold a 16-12 lead in the all-time series. The last game between the teams was played in 2023 and resulted in a 7-3 victory for the Hoosiers in Bloomington.
