Mississippi State and Virginia meet in the NCAA Regional round of college baseball.
The NCAA baseball tournament regional round continues on Saturday. In Charlottesville, the two winners from yesterday are set to meet in the second game of the regional for both teams. Mississippi State comes into this game off a 5-2 win in extra innings on Friday against St. John’s, with Dakota Jordan hitting a three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th to give the Bulldogs the win. Logan Kohler homered in the game as well. Mississippi State pitcher Khal Stephen got a no decision, but pitched seven strong innings, striking out 10.

Virginia, the host of this regional, defeated Penn 4-2 on Friday. Three of UVA’s runs came in the second inning when Henry Godbout hit a three-run homer. The win moved the Cavaliers along in the winner’s bracket of this double-elimination weekend.
