Murray State looks to make its first-ever College World Series appearance when it takes on Duke on Monday night in the college baseball Super Regionals.

The Murray State Racers look to make history on Monday night when they battle the Duke Blue Devils in college baseball. The Racers are looking to make their first ever College Baseball World Series with a win on Monday. They are playing in their first-ever Super Regional and they were able to extend their season with a big 19-9 win on Sunday. They had dropped the first game to the Blue Devils on Saturday, but bounced back in a big way in game two. They did give up two runs in the top of the first inning, but answered with three in the bottom of the inning to take a lead they would never relinquish.

They added two more in the second and then after the Blue Devils cut the lead to two, they scored five more times in the fourth. They put the game away with a nine-run seventh inning. The Racers had 17 hits in the win and were led by Dustin Mercer, who went 4-for-5. Jonathan Hogart, Carson Garner, Dan Tauken and Conner Cunningham all homered for the Racers to help lead them to the blowout win.

The Blue Devils had no answer for the Racers offense, but will be needing to find a way to slow them down on Monday if they want to make it to the CWS.

The Blue Devils held them in check in the first game of the series on Saturday. They gave up just four runs to get the win and will need another performance like that on Monday.

This is just the fourth Super Regional for the Blue Devils and they have never won this type of format.

They have made the CWS three times before this current format. The last time came back in 1961 and they are trying to snap the 54-year drought.
