Florida State and UCLA will meet today in the first round of the Auburn regional today. The Seminoles are 33-23 on the season, while the Bruins are 38-22.

After a strong performance in the Pac-12 tournament, UCLA made it into the NCAA tournament. The Bruins just missed playing in the championship game after losing to Oregon State on Friday. While UCLA did force a second game with Oregon State after winning 25-22 in a 10 inning showdown, the Cowboys won the second game 8-7 to eliminate UCLA.
Florida State is also coming off a 5-2 loss to Notre Dame in the ACC tournament. The Seminoles had to wait through the selection show to learn their fate and luckily for them, they made it into the NCAA tournament.
UCLA has now made regionals for the fifth straight year and has an all-time record of 72-50 in the NCAA tournament. Florida State has now reached the NCAA tournament for the 44th consecutive year. The Seminoles have 59 all-time appearances in the tournament, second to Texas with 61 appearances.
While UCLA is favored based on its strong season-ending, Florida State can’t be counted out considering its history in the NCAA tournament.
