Nebraska will take on USC in the first game on Friday night of a three-game series this week in college baseball at Great Park in Irvine, California. The Trojans are 12-8 overall this season through their first 20 games of the season. They are also 2-4 against teams in the Big Ten Conference after two-three games series. Their first series loss was against Oregon, where they were swept three games to none. The first game ended 7-2, followed by an 8-6 loss and a 5-3 loss. They put a fourth straight on it after losing on the road to Cal State Fullerton.

They went on the road to Michigan, taking on the Wolverines in a three-game series. They won the first two games 7-4 and 4-3, before just missing out on the sweep, losing the last game 11-0. They bounced back earlier this week with a win against Arizona State as well. Junior third baseman Ethan Hedges leads the team with six home runs and 23 RBIs in 76 at-bats, batting .368.

The Cornhuskers have also played 20 games this season and sit just under the .500 mark with a 9-11 record. They have also played two series in the Big Ten Conference losing five of those six games. They lost two games against Washington at home before winning the last game of the series 6-2 followed by a two-game series win against Wichita State 10-1 and 5-4.

They were swept by UCLA on the road in their last Big Ten series, losing 5-2, 11-3, and 5-3 in the three games. Earlier this week, they took on Pepperdine in a two-game series and won 9-6 and 11-4. Freshman Devin Nunez leads Nebraska, batting .353 with a team-high three home runs and 11 RBIs in 51 at-bats.
