The Northeastern Huskies will travel south on Friday for a game against the Boston Red Sox in an MLB College Series game.

On Friday afternoon, the Boston Red Sox will welcome the Northeastern Huskies to their spring training facility at Jet Blue Park for an MLB College Series matchup. The Red Sox arrived in Florida last week to get started on their spring training journey ahead of the 2025 MLB season. 36 pitchers and six catchers reported with the hopes of earning a spot on the final roster before the season officially begins on March 27. The team’s first full squad workout took place on Monday, as the organization welcomed 20 non-roster invitees, as well as six infielders, six outfielders and six combination players joining the 40 combined pitchers and catchers.

The Huskies opened the 2025 season last weekend with a pair of Valentine’s Day games against the Charlotte 49ers. The team split the games, losing 6-1 in the first and winning 3-1 in the second. A third game was scheduled for Sunday, but was canceled. The Huskies struck first in the opening game, but the 49ers scored six unanswered runs to hand Aiven Cabral his first loss of 2025. Carmelo Musacchia led the offensive efforts, going 2-for-4 at the plate. The team’s second game also got off to a strong start with Jack Goodman giving his team a 2-0 lead with a homer over the left field wall in the first. Ryan Gerety batted in the third and final run for the Huskies to help the team notch its first win.

Following Friday’s game with the Red Sox, the Huskies will continue 2025 by playing a three-game series against Indiana State at Centennial Park in Port Charlotte, Florida.
