The team is now in seventh place in the SEC standings. Despite the Bulldogs taking an early lead, the Sooners never backed down and fought back, coming up just short. Cade Crossland took the loss on the mound to drop to 3-3 on the season after giving up seven earned runs in four innings. Dawson Willis led the offensive efforts with three RBI after going 4-for-5 at the plate.

Although Georgia is still nationally ranked, the Bulldogs have struggled in conference play and are sitting in eighth place in the SEC standings with a conference record of 11-9 and an overall record of 34-11. Last week, the team was ranked fifth, but dropped to 10th after being swept by Vanderbilt. Friday’s 10-9 win against Oklahoma snapped a five-game losing streak for the Bulldogs after Slate Alford dominated offensively. Alford went 2-for-4 at the plate and finished with four RBI after opening the game with a solo home run and added a three-run double in the second. Zach Harris stayed undefeated with the win on the mound after striking out two batters in 1.1 inning of work.
