South Carolina will host Presbyterian on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup at Founders Park.

The South Carolina Gamecocks will welcome the Prebyterian Blue Hose to Founders Park on Tuesday for a mid-week, non-conference game. The Blue Hose come into Tuesday’s contest with an overall record of 14-15 and a conference record of 6-3 for a spot in second place in the Big South standings. Over the weekend, the team traveled to take on UNC Asheville, winning two to secure the series victory. The finale saw a 12-7 win which was credited to Sean Hollister on the mound after striking out four in 4.1 innings while only giving up one earned run and three hits. Trey Fenderson powered the offense, going 5-for-5 at the plate with two RBI from singles in the sixth and eighth innings.

The Gamecocks are toward the bottom of the SEC standings with just one conference win so far and eight losses. Overall, the team is 17-12 and will look to tack on one more win on Tuesday. South Carolina is currently on a seven game losing streak with the most recent being a 7-2 loss to No. 1 Tennessee on Sunday to close out its SEC series. Jase Woita was responsible for one of the team’s runs with an RBI single in the first and Gavin Braland brought home the team’s only other run in the sixth with an RBI single to score Beau Hollins. Matthew Becker took the loss on the mound to drop to 2-2 on the season after giving up three earned runs in 3.2 innings while striking out four batters.

South Carolina and Presbyterian have met a total of 14 times in their history and the Gamecocks hold an 11-3 lead in the all-time series. The teams last meeting took place last season and resulted in a high-scoring 19-14 win for South Carolina.
