TCU and Oregon State will look to stay alive on Saturday with a win when the teams meet in Corvallis Regional play.

The No. 7 Oregon State Beavers will take on the No. 18 TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday afternoon as the teams leave it all on the line to extend their season. Both teams come into the contest with one loss in regional play, meaning whichever team loses on Saturday will end their 2025 season. The Horned Frogs opened regional play against USC and fell in a tough 13-1 defeat on Friday. Tommy LaPour was credited with the loss on the mound after giving up three earned runs in three innings of work after receiving the start. TCU used six other pitchers, however, and none of them were able to shut down the Trojans’ strong hitting. TCU’s lone run came from the bat of Sawyer Stronsnider in the fourth inning with a solo shot to right center.

The Beavers kicked off regional play on Friday with a game against Saint Mary’s and battled to a 6-4 loss. The Gaels jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, forcing Oregon State to play catch-up. In the bottom of the third, Gavin Turley brought the game within one, hitting a two-run homer to right center to score Aiva Arquette. Saint Mary’s countered with another three runs in the seventh and although the Beavers got two back by way of a Trent Caraway solo home run and an Easton Talt triple, the team came up just short. Eric Segura took the loss after giving up three runs in just 0.1 innings on the mound. AJ Hutcheson came in to relieve him and threw five strikeouts in five innings.

Oregon State and TCU have met a total of five times in their history and the Horned Frogs hold a slight 3-2 lead in the all-time series. The teams last met in 2021 and the Beavers earned a 3-2 win. Now, both teams will look to bounce back to try and stay alive in the double-elimination format.
