No. 2 Texas, Kentucky to decide their series on Sunday after a dramatic win by the Wildcats on Saturday

No. 2 Texas (28-5) threw away a chance to extend their winning streak to six games on Saturday and enter Sunday needing a win to secure a Southeastern Conference series victory at Kentucky (19-13), which snapped a four-game losing streak. The loss moves the Longhorns to 6-2 in SEC play while the Wildcats improved to 6-8. Texas is looking to return to the NCAA tournament for the fifth straight season and return to the College World Series for the first time since 2022 while Kentucky is fighting to stay in contention for a third straight NCAA tournament bid after a surprising run to Omaha last spring.
