Tulane brought the heavy lumber in Friday’s opener, looks to lock up an American series win at East Carolina on Saturday.

Tulane (25-17) washed away the taste of a run-rule loss its last time out by pummeling East Carolina (24-18) in the opener of an American Athletic Conference series at Clark-LeClair Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina, on Friday night. The teams run it back on Saturday with the Green Wave looking to secure the series win. Friday’s decision enabled Tulane to catch the Pirates in the American standings at 9-7, part of a fourth-place tie that also includes Florida Atlantic, just a game back of third-place Charlotte.
