UCLA and LSU hit the field on Monday evening in the winner’s bracket of the College World Series

The UCLA Bruins and LSU Tigers battle on Monday night with a berth in the semifinals of the College World Series on the line. The Tigers took down SEC foe Arkansas in their first game, 4-1. They jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the top of the second inning and they never trailed in the game. They did give up one run in the sixth, but added an insurance run in the eighth and were never really threatened. Kade Anderson was great on the mound, as he went seven innings to earn the win. He gave up just three hits and one run to the Razorbacks. He struck out seven and walked just two to lead the Tigers to the win. Chase Shores and Casan Evans would each throw a scoreless inning of relief. Steven Milam led the way at the plate with two hits. Luis Hernandez, Derek Curiel, Daniel Dickinson and Chris Stanfield all had a hit for the Tigers in the win.

The Bruins took down Murray State in their first game of the tournament, 6-4. The Bruins avoided the upset by scoring the first six runs of the game and then they held off the rally to get the win.

The Bruins struck early against the Racers, as they scored a run each in the first and second innings. Their big inning came in the fourth, when they scored four runs to go up by six.

Dean West and Phoenix Call both had two hits for the Bruins in the win. Ronan Martin and AJ Salgado both drove in two runs to lead the team.

The Bruins have yet to lose in the NCAA Tournament as they have won all six of their games thus far.
