Kimble Schuessler and Texas will take on Norris McClure and UTSA on Saturday in the Austin Regional for a championship berth.

No. 2 seed UTSA will battle the regional’s host and No. 1 seed in Texas in Game 4 of the Austin Regional at Disch-Falk Field on the campus of the University of Texas. The Longhorns finished their season with a 43-12 overall record and a 22-8 record against teams in the Southeastern Conference. They opened up the regional yesterday with a game against the regional’s No. 4 seed, Houston Christian, and won 7-1. The game was slow to get started, but when the runs came, they piled on for Texas, getting two in the third inning and five in the fifth inning.

Ethan Walker started the game on the mound, Grayson Saunier was credited with the win, and Hudson Hamilton picked up a save over the nine innings. Kimble Schuessler finished the best at the plate for Texas with two of the team’s six RBIs on the night. Ethan Mendoza, Adrian Rodriguez, Casey Borba, and Will Gasparino had the others.

The Roadrunners closed out their regular season with a 45-13 record overall and a 23-4 record against teams in the American Athletic Conference. They took on the regional’s No. 3 seed, Kansas State, in the first game on Friday night. They dominated with the win, 10-2, advancing in the winners’ bracket. The loser of this game will head to the losers’ bracket while the winner will advance to the championship.

Zach Royse won his ninth game of the season after throwing 5.1 innings, giving up one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts. Robert Orloski and Christian Okerholm finished out the final 3.2 innings with one earned run. James Taussig and Norris McClure both hit home runs, with Taussig also having three RBIs. Four other players finished the game for UTSA with RBIs.
