They opened up their tournament in the quarterfinal round with a matchup against Oklahoma, which had previously beaten No. 13 seed Kentucky and No. 5 seed Georgia in the first and second rounds.

The No. 12-seeded Sooners’ Cinderella run ended when they were run over 6-1 by Vanderbilt. JD Thompson came away with his fifth win of the season, evening up his record at 5-5. He allowed the one earned run on two hits over five innings with 11 strikeouts. RJ Austin led the offense with three of the six RBIs for the team.

The No. 8-seeded Volunteers opened up their conference tournament play in the second round with a matchup against the No. 9-seeded Alabama. They won an offensive shootout 15-10 in that game. Despite 15 runs, only Reese Chapman had a homer, paired with four RBIs. Gavin Kilen had three RBIs while Cannon Peebles and Manny Marin both had two RBIs.

Tennessee moved on to face the No. 1-seeded team in the tournament, Texas, and upset the Longhorns 7-5. Nate Snead picked up his fourth win of the season after throwing the final 2.2 innings of the game scoreless. Liam Doyle started the game and gave up four runs. Kilen hit a homer in this game with three RBIs, while Peebles had two RBIs.
