After a dominant win over the Patriots, they faced off again on the next day against Little Rock and lost. In a win-or-go-home Game 7 of the regional, they took down Little Rock for a second time to advance. Ethan Frey was the best at the plate for LSU throughout the regional play. On the season, he has 13 home runs and 49 RBIs.

The Mountaineers lost the Big 12 Tournament to Arizona, 12-1, before heading to the Clemson Regional. They opened up that region with a one-run win over Kentucky, 4-3, on the first day. The next day, they took down the No. 1 seed and host of the regional, Clemson, 9-6, moving them on to the championship game on Day 3.

After Kentucky took down Clemson in the losers’ bracket, it set up a rematch in the championship game. Despite West Virginia being able to lose a game and get another rematch, it took care of business with a 13-12 offensive shootout. Armani Guzman was named the Clemson Regional MVP, despite having just two home runs and 22 RBIs on the season.
